Professional grade blank DVD media is, as the name suggests, made for professional use. It is designed for those doing large volume DVD copying, and must meet higher standards for burn tests, compatibility and durability. Consequently, non-professional or consumer grade blank DVD media may have higher failure rates, a shorter shelf life and greater compatibility problems.
